My Bio
I specialize in writing short stories. Themes vary from dark, psychologically charged tales to passionate romance. You will see a very different kind of energy in each work, as I try to draw the reader into the despair or ecstasy of the protagonist. My goal is to move the reader. There are some bonuses available to readers with a sharp attention to detail, as foreshadowing plays a role in several of my works.

I am not a novelist. I seem to hit a wall whenever I try to write things past a certain point and the creative well runs dry working off of the same idea for too long. I have toyed with writing longer works frequently, but I have never made it past 5 pages without things falling apart or becoming uninteresting.

I cannot afford school or coaching to improve in these areas, nor do I feel they would be particularly useful. I have found my niche in short stories and the occasional poem and am okay with that. If, for some reason, you like my work well enough to sponsor more of it, please keep these limitations in mind.

That said, I write here because I cannot stand not to write and share my work with others. It is a passion that is difficult to explain. While it may not put food on the table, sometimes one has to make sacrifices to satisfy their passions.

My work will frequently feature the (tasteful) inclusion of sexual content. It is not the highlight of the story, but it can often be an important theme, plot device, or a natural result of events. You will not find smut or grossly detailed encounters, but there may be enough description to push some people outside of their comfort zone. I will try to keep things clearly labeled for the sake of these people, but expect it will come up more often than not.

Sexuality is a part of human nature and a fact of life, and it is often counter-intuitive to sidestep it in the pursuit of art. Hopefully some like-minded, mature individuals will agree with that assertion.

Tools of the Trade
Whatever is handy when the muse attacks.
Other Interests
Psychology, human sexuality, people-watching.
While some people tend to veer away from writing with themes of abuse when they, themselves, have been privy to its effects, I find it to be a very liberating experience. It gives me a similar experience to group therapy: a chance to explore the things that were going through my head as the unfair things kept happening to me and around me. Even though what I write are not accounts of my own abuse, and there is no immediate influx consisting of comforting words and empathy, there are some similarities. Support groups provide an important first (or second) step in the case of most survivors, as they allow the non-judgmental environment needed

Welcome to DA.
No problem. As I mentioned in the critique, I'm looking forward to reading more!

I do feel I need to try to seek out at least a few more people to watch, but I'll definitely be back to your work once I have a bit of a network built up!
